Alford Collections


Over the last 25 years or so AAFA has acquired several Alford collections by donation.  Parts of some of them are scattered all over the website but most are included here.  The format and content varies drastically but they will be presented in their original form as nearly as possible.

Collector Description
  CITY DIRECTORIES   Alford pages from city directories submitted by various members and other persons.
  Corrington L. Alford   Much of the work done by Dr. Corrington Loyal Alford during the late 1800s.
  NOT APPLICABLE TO ANY PARTICULAR STATE
  Guy Alford   Background and Forms he completed recording basic Alford research for his Book that was never published.
  His line is from Georgia.
  Harry L. Alford   Musician, Composer, Arranger
  Collection by Granddaughter Diane Holmes Hunt for AAFA

  Christie Alford Baldwin   Approximately 100 copies of original old NC Alford documents, many dealing with Lodwick Alford.
  "Published" book of presentation she made on Lodwick Alford at the 1990 AAFA meeting in NC.
  James Edwards   3x5 cards with Alford source references
  John B. Alford   Assorted documents he prepared on his branch of Alfords
  L. E. Alford   A large variety of correspondence plus copies of legal documents from Horry Co. SC.
  Tressie Bowman   Her "Alford Family Bulletin" which is recorded elsewhere, family group records also recorded elsewhere and what she called peeslips (3x5 cards with abstracts of Alford data).
