Home page for Lucy Shull Stevens, AAFA #0094
Lucy first became directly involved with our Alford effort in 1984, but she had worked with her mother, Mrs. Lewis O. "Tressie" Bowman, in the publication of the Alford Family Bulletin for about ten years before that. She provided AAFA hundreds of pages of important Alford correspondence regarding Jacob Alford. She became a member of AAFA in 1988 and immediately assumed the role of DAR project officer. She acquired for AAFA copies of many DAR applications pertinent to Alford RW soldiers. She attended the 1990 AAFA meeting in North Carolina though suffering with cancer at the time. She died in 1992.
