AAFA WILLS
WILL OF LODWICK ALFORD


In the name of god amen I Lodwick Alford Sen'r being Sick & weak but in perfect mind & memory my Soul to god I freely give and my Body to Some silent grave to be buried at the discretion of my Executors and what is pleased the Almighty God to Bless me with on earth I Give as follows after death.

Item: I give to my Daughter Winny Rogers one Negro by the name of Charles to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I Lend to my Daughter Mary Alford one Negro by the name of Dafna and also my old mill Land on Scyprous Creek adjoining Robert Butter & others during her natural Life & after her death my will & Desire is that her Son Bailey Alford Should have it to him & his heirs forever. And also my will & desire is that the Said Negroe and all her increase to be equally divided among said Daughters & Children after her Death to them & their Heirs forever.

Item: I give my Daughter Susanna Hobbs one Negroe Girl by the name of Appe to her And her heirs forever and my Will & desire is that the two first Children the said Negroe bring that Lives that Said Daughters oldest Son Willie Alford Should have and all the Stock of Cattle James Porch now has in Stock to him and his heirs forever. As also I lend my Said Daughter Susannah one Negroe Woman known by the name of Hannah during her natural life, and that after her death my will & desire is that the Said Negroe woman by the name of Hannah may be set free.

Item: I give unto my Son Anslem Alford one Hundred Acres of Land Joining to John Alford & a Negroe woman Known by the name of Nan & one Large Still to him & his heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Son Samuel Alford all the Land lying on the North Side of Tarriver Joining Lines between the Cyprus Creek and river with one feather bed & furniture and one Breeding mare & three Cows & calves to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give to my son Kintchen Alford all the rest of my Land on the South Side of Tarriver Joining Anslem Alford & one Negroe named Jack to him and his heirs forever.

Item: I give to Lany Freeman two Cows and calves to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give Susannah Freeman one Cow and calf to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give to Sarah Cloe one feather Bed to her and her heirs forever.

Item: I give to my Son Goodrich Alford one certain Tract or parcel of Land Joining Hickman Williams lying on the waters of Crooked Creek to him & his heirs forever. Also my Will and desire is that the rest of my Estate be Sold and the money arising to be Equally divided amongst Samuel Alford, Kintchen Alford, Mary Alford, Susannah Hobbs, & Laney Freeman.

I do nominate & appoint Robert Melton & my Son Warren Alford Executors of this my last will & Testament and Trustees for my Children. In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Twenty first day of June 1792.
