In the Name of God Amen I Edward Alford being very Sick and weak of Body but of Perfect
Sence and Memory Blessed be God for the same--this I ordain Last Will and Testament in
manner & form following first I bequeath my Soul into hands of Almighty God that gave it
me and my Body to be Buried at the Discretion of my wife for a Christian Burial.
Item I Give and bequeath to my Son William Alford one Mare Colt Called & known by the name
of Jewel and I order that my Son Thomas shall have the fole that the said Mare shall first
bring.
Item I Leave my Son William my Sadle.
Item I Leave my Son William a gun that is Called his.
Item I Leave my Son William one Heifer Yearling and all her Increase.
Item I Give and bequeath unto my Son Edward Alford my own Shuting gun further I give my
said Son Edward the first fole that my Mare ____ ____?.
Item I Give my Son Edward one Brown heifer that is _____? With Calf.
Item I Give and bequeath to my Son John Alford one Red Heifer now with Calf further I Give
my Son John Another Heifer known by the name of ?.
Item I Give and bequeath to my Son Thomas Alford ten pounds to be paid out of my Estate
when he shall Come to ye year of Twelve to put him to School.
Item I Give and bequeath to Bonony Frazar my Cain & my Irish Glass.
Item I Give and bequeath all the Remaining part of my Estate after paying my Just Debts to
my Dear and Loving Wife Mary Alford and further I do Ordain her my whole & Sole Executrix
this 28th Day of February 1741.

On the 17 of May 1742 Bonony Frazar Thomas Rumball & Stephen Flaharty the Subscribing
Witnesses to the within Will made oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they
Saw the Testator Edward Alford Sign Seal Publish and Declare the Same as his Last Will
& Testament & that at the time of his so doing he was to the best of their Apprehension
of Sound & Disposing mind & Memory & that they Subscribed their Severall Names as
Witnesses to the said Will in Presence of said Testator and at his Request.
Sworn before Henry Tripp Deputy Com'y of Dorchester County.
