Jim joined our Alford effort later than many and faded away sooner but in between his arrival in 1988
and his dropping from site about 1994 he wrote enough to fill a large 3-ring binder. In addition to
writing to Gil Alford he was also in frequent touch with the late Captain Lodwick Alford, and other
interested members. He also authored a number of articles for the quarterly. Having never heard of any
of us Jim first wrote to Julius M. Pooley Alford, our AAFA treasurer in McComb, MS who had run
some personal notice in a Dallas paper. In those days Pooley sent all his correspondence to Gil
for reply to the sender.
Watch here for more of his letters and watch the updates page for announcements of his other material
as it is posted to the site.
