NANCY AND JOHN Q. ALFORD BIBLE
In the possession of Mrs. Lee Rice of Wilmore, Jessamine Co., KY

AAFA NOTES:This Bible obviously belonged to Nancy Alford and her husband John Quilla Alford, who was her first cousin. According to the introductory paragraph the Bible passed to Mary E. Alford's daughter, Mrs. Samuel Myers. It is not known whether she is identical to the Minnie Lee Dunn, born in 1875 or whether there were other daughters whose names are not found in the Bible records. Mary E. was first married to Alexander Bland and second (before 1875?) to Charles Edward Dunn but AAFA does not have the date of the second marriage. Was she buried as Mary Bland or Mary Dunn?? Milton Rice was first married to Josephine M. Alford and several years after her death, he married her sister Sarah Martha "Mattie" Alford. Henry Clay died as an infant and Jesse, Rosa Ann, and Frank W. never married. Rosa Ann died Feb. 23, 1925, but it is not known why her death is not listed in the Bible or when the Bible burned.

All of this family are descendants of Jacob and Nancy Hunter Alford.
