By Lynn D. Shelley, #0484
From Published Sources

From KENTUCKY FAMILY RECORDS, VOLUME 1.
Editor Mrs. Edgar L. Cox, Owensboro, KY: West-Central Kentucky Family Research Association,
1982 Reprint of 1970 edition, pages 3 and 4.

These are some dates written on the blank pages of a scrapbook made by Mrs. Ella Dugan Douthitt of Daviess Co. KY in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The book was originally the lodge book of the Monument Lodge No. 483. Mrs. Douthitt's father-in-law was a member of this lodge.

Only records of ALFORD connections are listed - AAFA has the entire record.

In 1968, owned by Mrs. Thurman Elliott of Owensboro, KY

AAFA NOTES:This is a Daviess County, KY, family that started with Joseph Alford who first appeared there in 1860 although he and wife Mary/Polly were born in KY and were enumerated in Marion County in 1850. In 1860 they had five children but the eldest sons present in 1850 (William H., 22, and John H. 19, are missing). The rest of the family is missing from the 1870 census but this is probably where Joseph and Glarvina married so they probably were just missed or can be found under an unusual spelling variation. WHO WAS THIS JOSEPH'S PARENTS?

He was born in Marion Co. KY (c1814) according to vital statistics (listed under son John's birth) microfilm for Daviess County. Both Joseph (known as Clayton) and John Kimbley (known as Kimbley) lived and died in Daviess County. Joseph Clayton (went by Clay) married second to Lula Mae Foster by 1916.
