Dick, or Dr. Dick Alford joined the association in 1994. He did extensive research on his Alford ancestry and aided AAFA with copies of publications as he proceeded. He was a very active participant in the AAFA Census project doing both data extraction from microfilm and data verification and review. He contributed to the quarterly. He served as AAFA President from 1999 through 2001 and served on the board of directors for the same time.
