Orville joined AAFA in 1991. From then until 1998 he was one of the most productive of all AAFA researchers. Unlike most members, Orville was interested in any and all Alfords -- not just his branch. In 1998 he and Gil collaborated on an updated genealogy of his branch of Alfords. That was the last heard from him before he died ten years later.

Here, we want to share with you most of what Orville wrote to Gil and we are in the slow process of updating the genealogy.

In August 1992 Orville sent a letter espousing a theory connecting the Alfords of Franklin County, NC with those of Rutherford County, NC. In addition to his handwritten copy, a printed copy was created. Links to both pdf copies are.
