2019 AAFA MEETING and REUNION
This is the homepage for the 2019 Annual Meeting in Atlanta, GA on October 3-6, 2019.
We welcome anyone with an interest in the Alford family (and Halford, Alvord, etc.) to join us; an AAFA membership is not required!

The 2019 Annual Meeting and National Alford Reunion is scheduled for October 3-6, 2019 at the Holiday Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport North, 1380 Virginia Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30344, telephone (404) 305-9990.
The Holiday Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport North is 1 exit (1 mile) from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, 4 minutes from baggage claim and pick up and just 8 miles from downtown Atlanta. The hotel provides complimentary airport shuttle service from 4 am to 2am.
The hotel was renovated in 2012, is a smoke free facility, has 13 accessible rooms and connecting rooms are available.
The Hanger At Holiday Inn is a full service restaurant and bar with breakfast, dinner, dessert, drink and room rervice menus. The restaurant is open from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm. The bar is open from 5:00 pm to 12:00 am. Room service is available from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Unfortunately, our room rate does NOT include a free breakfast.
Each guest room has a 37" flat panel HDTV, Bath & Body Works bathroom amenities, complimentary Internet service (Wi-Fi and hard wired HiSpeed internet) and Holiday Inn's signature pillow menu (soft or firm). Other amenities include an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, a mini refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea supplies, free local calls and a complimentary morning newspaper.
There is an on-site business center, open 24 hours/day, with a printer and a copier. The complimemntary fitness center is open 24 hours/day. On-site guest self-laundry facilities are open from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm. The hotel provides wake up calls, an ATM/cash machine, ice machines, a safety deposit box and a gift shop. The AAFA group room rate is $99.00 per night plus 15.75% room tax plus $5.00 state hotel fee per night, single or double occupancy, king bed or double queen beds. This rate applies Wednesday, Oct 4 (for early check in) through Sunday night, Oct 6 (for check out on Monday, Oct 7). Unfortunately, our room rate does NOT include a free breakfast.

Book online or call the hotel at (404) 305-9990 OR (404) 669-1214. When making reservations, be sure to identify yourself as being with the Alford American Family Associatioin and use the AAFA group rate AAF. If ADA features are required, ask for their availability and if additional fees and taxes apply. If you fly to Atlanta and need to use the complimentary hotel shuttle, ask about making arrangements for this service. Reservations must be made on or before Thursday, Sept 12 (Cutoff Date) to get our AAFA group rate. Make them now and you need not worry about it later. If you are a member of the IHG Rewards Club, reward points are available. Check-in time is after 3:00 pm. Check-out time is 12:00 noon.
Hotel Pet Policy
Pets (limited to 2/room) are allowed. The pet deposit of $100/stay (up to 7 days) is non-refundable. Service animals are gladly welcomed at the hotel which is pleased to be a fully ADA-compliant hotel, as well as a hotel that engages in green and eco-friendly practices. No deposit is required for service animals. There is a pet walking area.

This meeting will follow the pattern of recent AAFA meetings with segments:
- Morning and Afternoon - dealing with Alfords and Research
- Evening - Reception Buffet with no program - Southern Buffet with Fried Chicken and Roasted Tilapia.
- Morning - the lively (but not boring) Annual AAFA Business Meeting
- Afternoon (or sooner if the business meeting ends early) - Family Forum
Members talk about their Alford families and branches
- Evening - the Annual Banquet with memorial, recognition, etc
Attendee choice of either a London Broil or a Mediterranean Chicken plated dinner
- Morning - an informal show & tell, question & answer and goodby session
On Thursday, October 3, a visit to the Georgia Archives in Morrow, GA is being planned. More information will be available at a later date.
