2018 AAFA MEETING and REUNION

This is the homepage for the 2018 Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX, October 5-7, 2018.

We welcome anyone with an interest in the Alford family (and Halford, Alvord, etc.) to join us, an AAFA membership is not required!

The 2018 Annual Meeting and National Alford Reunion is scheduled for October 5-7, 2018 at the Pear Tree Inn at the San Antonio International Airport, 143 NE Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78216, telephone (210) 366-9300.

The Pear Tree Inn San Antonio Airport is a non-smoking Drury Hotel, at the airport and only 15 minutes from downtown. Amenities include free: hot breakfast (Fri 6-9:30am, Sat & Sun 7-10am), evening snacks & cold beverages (5:30pm-7pm), Wi-Fi and lemonade & popcorn every night in the lobby. Also free: 60 minutes/night of domestic long distance, local phone calls, parking, airport shuttle 4am-12:30am, outdoor pool 9am-10pm, and 24-hour fitness & business centers. Hotel web site.


Hotel Reservations

The AAFA group room rate is $89.99 per night plus 16.75% room tax, single or double occupancy, king bed or double queen beds. This rate applies Thursday, Oct 4 through Sunday night, Oct 7 (for check out on Monday, Oct 8) and includes breakfast for up to 2 people per room per day (gratuity not included).

Call the Pear Tree Inn San Antonio Airport at 1-800-325-0720.

When making reservations be sure to identify yourself with the group number 2338954 to obtain our AAFA group rate.

If ADA features are required, ask for their availability and if additional fees and taxes apply.

Reservations must be made on or before Monday, Sept 3 (Cutoff Date) to get our AAFA group rate. Make them now and you need not worry about it later.

Check-in time is after 3:00 pm. Check-out time is 11:00 am.


Hotel Pet Policy

The Pear Tree Inn San Antonio Airport is pet friendly. Rooms with pets will be charged a daily fee of $25 per room plus tax.

Meeting Agenda:

This meeting will follow the pattern of recent AAFA meetings with segments:

• FRIDAY:
• Morning and Afternoon - dealing with Alfords and Research;
• Evening - Reception Buffet with no program - Beef & Chicken Fajita Buffet.


• SATURDAY:
• Morning - the lively (but not boring) Annual AAFA Business Meeting;
• Afternoon (or sooner if the business meeting ends early) - Family Forum
  Members talk about their Alford families and branches;
• Evening - the Annual Banquet with memorial, recognition, etc.
  Attendee choice of either a Chicken Marsala or a Grilled Salmon Buffet.


• SUNDAY:
• Morning - an informal show & tell, question & answer and goodby session.
