Known to most people as
Carolyn, she was born Mayme Carolyn Magee on Nov. 21, 1934, in Franklinton,
Washington Parish, to Myrtha Alford Magee and Tate Marvin Magee. She grew up
there and graduated from Franklinton High School in 1953. After attending
Northwestern Louisiana College, she enrolled in a nursing course in Baton Rouge
and became a licensed practical nurse.
She married Wilbur Cushman
Lewis to whom she bore four children, Wilbur C. Lewis Jr., Lynet M. Lewis
Guthrie and twins Charles E. and Carolyn E. Lewis Caron. After a divorce, she
worked as a nurse at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
She later met and married
Julian B. Honeycutt Jr. on June 1, 1988. They resided in Baton Rouge and became
active members of Broadmoor United Methodist Church and the Lamplighters Sunday
School Class of the church.
Survived by her second
husband, Julian Honeycutt; three children, Lynet and husband Marc A. Guthrie,
Charles Lewis, and Carolyn and Kirk Caron; and granddaughter, Brittany Nicole
Metrejon.
Preceded in death by her
parents; and son, Wilbur Lewis Jr.
