Lucy Jane Dodd Eastham , 86, of Houston, died
Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
A native of Beaumont, Lucy was born on November
26, 1922 to Flora and Hardy Dodd. She worked as a reporter for the Beaumont
Enterprise in the 1950’s and the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate in the
1960’s. Lucy later moved to Houston in 1970. She was a lifelong member of the
Junior League and Pi Beta Phi.
Her parents, Flora and Hardy Dodd; husband, John
Moise Eastham , Jr.;
and brother, Hardy A. Dodd, Jr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, H. Dodd Eastham [AAFA #1079] and his wife
Glyance of Houston; grandchildren, Emily Lewin and her husband Dr. Marc Lewin
of Dallas, Jenny Eastham
of Houston and Hardy D. Eastham
, Jr. of Baton Rouge; and great-grandchild, Addison Reece Lewin.
A graveside service will be 2:00 p. m. Friday,
May 15, 2009 at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000
McFaddin, Beaumont.
