Dorothy A. “Polly” Lobdell, 83 of Lakeland,
Florida and formerly of New Concord, New York died March 1, 2010 from respiratory
failure. She was born on August 4, 1926 in Lakeland, Florida. Polly worked as a
telephone operator for the Taconic Telephone Service. She was a long time
member of the East Chatham Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the New Concord
Reformed Church and for 63 years in the East Chatham Grange.
Her beloved husband Richard F. Lobdell preceded
her in death.
She is survived by her children; daughter Linda
Pirrone (Robert) of Kinderhook, N.Y.; daughter Eva Ford (Marlin) of Mt
Pleasant, IA and son Richard Lobdell (Becky) of Mt Pleasant, IA; 6
grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters
Renna Roach, Hilda Lobdell, and Ruth Canup all of Lakeland, Florida.
Polly was cremated at the time of her death in
Lakeland, Florida. Polly’s friends and family are invited to gather and meet
with her children in her honor and remembrance at the Red Rock Fire Station in
Red Rock, New York on Sunday, July 18 anytime between 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A
luncheon will be provided.
