            Barbara Jean Linebaugh Ellzey, who worked as a secretary in the U.S. Civil Service at several Air Force bases for more than 20 years, died Tuesday [March 21]. She was 75.

            Mrs. Ellzey, a native of Lineville, Iowa, was a longtime resident of Mobile. She graduated from Murphy High School.

            She had served as a Cub Scout den leader, Brownie Scout troop leader and a Grey Lady for the American Red Cross.

            Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Fletcher Hayden "Bud" Ellzey of Mobile; three sons; David Alan Neal of Dallas, Jon Edwin Ellzey of Austin, Texas, and Timothy J. Ellzey of Mobile; and three grandchildren.

            A memorial service is set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Pine Crest Funeral Home on Dauphin Island Parkway. Her ashes will be scattered over the water in accordance with her wishes.

            Memorial Services for Barbara Jean Linebaugh, Wife of Fletcher Hayden “Bud” Ellzey for 55 years, will be held Sunday, March 26 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home.

            She was born September 14, 1930 in Lineville, IA, daughter to Paul Albert Linebaugh and Virginia Elizabeth Linebaugh. She grew up in Mobile and was a graduate of Murphy High School.

            Of sharp wit and Southern charm, she was a secretary in the U.S. Civil Service for more than twenty years, and served as a Cub Scout Den Leader, Brownie Scout Troup Leader, Grey Lady for the Red Cross, and was an avid gardener.

            She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Paul Eugene Linebaugh, a daughter, Cherianne Dee Callaway, and a grandson, Derek Alan Neal.

            In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons: David Alan Neal of Dallas, TX, Jon Edwin Ellzey (wife Gareth)of Austin, TX, and Timothy J. Ellzey of Mobile; and three grandchildren: Adam Barry Callaway, Sandi Lee Callaway and Keith Edward Neal, all of Oklahoma City, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

            Her ashes will be scattered over the water in accordance with her wishes.
