MCCOMB [Pike Co.], MS—Virgil H. Thomas, 76, a native of Washington Parish and a resident of McComb, died Thursday [19 June 2003]. Baptized in 1953 as one of Jehovah's witnesses, he served faithfully until his death.

            Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Delores Alford Thomas; his son, Harry Thomas; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Thomas; four grandchildren, Stephen Thomas, Heather Hess, Levi Thomas, and Jennifer Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Michael and Vincent Hess; two brothers; and two sisters.

His parents, Ephraim and Meacy Blackwell Thomas, and three brothers preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 900 South Locust St., McComb.

            Catchings Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
