            Beloved wife of the late Herbert M. Wise, Jr. Beloved mother of Herbert M. Wise III, Ronald L. Wise, Gary A. Wise and the late Eric B. Wise. Mother in law of Karen, Nancy and Mavis Wise. Daughter of the late Thomas and Clara Powell. Sister of the late Evelyn Young, T.L., Jr. and Adolph Powell, Irma Zehner. Grandmother of Tommy, Ricky, Wendy, Lisa, Keith, Danielle, Russell, Bonnie, Bridget, Jennifer and Erica. Great grandmother of Ariel, Shelby, Justin, Lauren, Kay Lee, Dakota, Jordan, Christopher, Watt, Katelyn, Rachael and Kyle.

            Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from the Jefferson Chapel of Tharp Sontheimer Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd at 43rd St., Metairie, LA. on Friday, February 14, 2003 at 11:00 o’clock AM. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation on Friday, February 14, 2003 from 9:00 o’clock AM until funeral time.

            Melba Rita Wise, a retired office manager at Baudier Radio and Communications, died Tuesday at Metairie Healthcare. She was 82. Mrs. Wise was born in New Orleans and was a lifelong resident of Jefferson. She was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

            Survivors include three sons, Gary A. and Ronald L. Wise, and Herbert M. Wise III; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 11 a.m. at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.
