            Funeral services for Walter Hoyle Alford will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 4, 1997 from the graveside at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL with Rev. George Lutz, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating.

            Mr. Alford was born on January 5, 1908 in Parkerville, GA and died on October 2, 1997 in Jacksonville, FL.

            Mr. Alford is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Horne Alford; two daughters, Carolyn Chambliss [AAFA #0965] and her husband, John, and Vesta Beany [AAFA #1084]; two sisters, Beatrice Parramore [AAFA #0158] and Louise Aiken [sic: Ekin] [AAFA #0177]; brother, Lodwick Alford [AAFA #0011]; four grandchildren, John Chambliss, Dale Chambliss Long, Kristen Beany Hogue and Karla Beany Venos; and many nieces and nephews.

            Family will receive friends Friday (today) from 6-8 PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or the Alzheimers Association.
