            Mrs. Flora King Alford, 98, of Macon, GA formerly of Sylvester died Sunday October 10, 2010 at her granddaughter’s residence in Macon.

            The funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 AM at Banks Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery [Sylvester] with Rev. Dan Williamson officiating.

            A native of Turner County, GA, Mrs. Alford had lived in Sylvester since 1978 moving from the Shingler Community and later moving to Macon in 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Pinson Angels and was a member of the Maude O’Sheal Sunday School Class.

            Survivors include her grandchildren, Dale Carr Reid and her husband Richard of Macon, GA, Alan Carr of Conyers, GA, Glenn Carr of Macon, GA, and Dean Carr of Crawfordville, Fl.; 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

            Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her parents Green Clyde and Ida Lee Cooper King, her husband William Leorus Alford who died on November 2, 1985, a daughter Sara Clyde Carr and a grandson Brian Carr.

            The family will receive friends on Monday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
