GROVES—Gwendolyn “Gwen” Walsh, 89, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, November 7, 2010.

            Gwen was born December 26, 1920 in Locker, Texas to Thomas John Murray and Ethyl M. Alford Murray. She was a resident of Groves for 60 years and a member of Groves First Baptist Church. She retired from Sears Roebuck after 32 years of service in sales and credit.

            Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, E.A. Walsh; brothers, Emory, Herman, Winston, Nelson, Edward, and Dan Murray; and one sister, Helen Lynstandt.

            Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Chance of Port Neches, TX; sons, Dennis Walsh of Groves, TX, Larry Walsh and wife, Kris of Austin, TX; sister, Rosemary Blair of Mableton, GA; brother, George Murray of Fort Worth, TX; four grandchildren and nine great - grandchildren; loyal friend and caregiver, Alicia Vasquez.

            Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 11, 2010 at Richland Springs Cemetery with Reverend Sam Crosby, pastor of the First Baptist Church of San Saba, Texas officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas.

            A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
