            Juanita Shepherd Alford, age 90, passed away peacefully in Hospice care in Statesboro, GA on May 3, 2013.

            Born in Macon, GA on November 1, 1922, she moved to Jacksonville as a teenager with her parents John Jordon and Annie Evelyn Shepherd where she lived most of her life until spending the last few years with her daughter Trish in Metter, GA. She graduated from Robert E. Lee high school and was a long time member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

            She was predeceased by her husband Marvin F. Alford, Sr., son Donald H. Alford, brother Buddy Shepherd (Iris) and sister Ruth O Steen (Gene).

            She is survived by her son Marvin F. Alford, Jr. (Glenda), daughter Patricia Masters (Bobby), daughter-in-law Janice Alford, 7 grandchildren: Elaine Felker (Marty), Brian Alford (Michelle), Brandi Howell (Matt), Heather Felder, Ashley Kelly (Michael), Jennifer Butler (Joe) and Logan Masters (Charity Blair) and 5 great grandchildren: Lauren Felker, Seth Alford, Addison Butler, Ansley Butler and Madison Yates.

            While flowers are appreciated, the family will be honored by donations to either Cedar Creek Baptist Church or Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. Family will receive friends Tuesday night from 5-7pm and services with Pastor John Montgomery will be Wednesday at 11am. Visitation and services will be in the chapel at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL, (904) 272-2435.
