Mrs. Joyce E. Pierce of Wilmington, N.C., passed
away at Duke University Hospital, Durham, N.C.
Mrs. Pierce was born in Durham, N.C., on April
19, 1943, the daughter of Pauline Creech of Wilson, N.C., and the late Herbert
Troy Alford. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Alexander Eugene
Pierce.
Surviving Mrs. Pierce are her husband, Gene
Pierce of the home; mother, Pauline Francis Creech; and stepfather, Albert
Holmes of Sharpsburg, N.C.; two sons, Michael Pierce and wife Angela of
Wilmington, N.C., David Ryan Pierce and wife Nikki in Wilmington, N.C.; a
daughter, Mrs. Renee Lewis and husband Earl of Burgaw, N.C.; one brother, Billy
Alford and wife Sharon of Emerald Isle; two grandchildren, David Michael Pierce
and Layne Bennett Pierce.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday,
February 15, 2000, in Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Chapel ….
