ROCKY MOUNT [Nash Co.]—Glenn Griffin Alford, 76, died at home Wednesday, Feb. 7. She was born June 16, 1919 to Clarence A. and Margarette Glenn Griffin. She graduated with a degree in Music from Salem College in 1939. She was married to the late Senator Dallas L. Alford, Jr., in 1945. She was a member of First Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Sir Walter Cabinet.

            Surviving are her children, Dallas Alford, III, and his wife Paula of Chapel Hill, Margarette Alford Rivenbark of Charlotte, Benjamin G. Alford and his wife, Marcia, of New Bern and Cathy Alford Duncan and her husband, Homer G. Duncan, Jr., of Cary; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Jean Griffin Fleming of Smithfield; one brother, Clarence A. Griffin, Jr., of Charlotte; many nieces and nephews; and also a life-time friend, Sara Little.

            Funeral services will be at 2 PM Saturday at the First United Methodist Church....

            Visitation will be Friday evening from 7-8:30 at Johnson Funeral Home on Sunset Avenue….
