            Mary J. Miller Alford, 92, of Houston died Monday, May 8, 2000, at her residence. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Houston United Methodist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Bobby Alford, Earnest Smotherman and Bill Weems will officiate. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home will direct. Visitation will be at 6 p.m., tonight, May 10, 2000, at Kilgore Green Funeral Home in Jasper and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, May 11, 2000, at Houston United Methodist Church in Houston, Ala.

            She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Owens of Addison, Betty Godsey and her husband, Lanier, of Houston, Owene Godsey and her husband, Carl, of Houston and Evelyn Sterling and her husband, Billy of Addison; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

            The family request that memorials be made to the Houston Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Pam Stewart, P.O. Box 70, Houston, Ala. 35572.
