AAFA NOTES: SSDI records show that Owen W. Alford (SS# issued in AL) was born 2 April 1907 and died 5 April 1991, last residence Houston, Winston Co., AL.

We included the obituary of his wife, Mary Jane Miller Alford, in Alabama Obituaries.

Owen’s grandson Robin Alford Sterling, AAFA #0320, wrote an extensive obituary for Owen that we published in AAFA ACTION, June 1991, and with his In Remembrance.

From Robin Sterling: “To be historically correct, it should be pointed out that Owen had only 10 grandchildren. The eleventh was a great niece who lived with the Betty Godsey family for many years.”
