            Richard Wayne Alford, 68, of Alvarado passed into the arms of the Lord on Friday, July 27, 2012.

            Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at First Baptist Church in Alvarado. The Rev. Wade Taylor will officiate. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home.

            Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the building fund at the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 362, Alvarado, Texas 76009.

            Wayne was born in Mineral Wells, to Charles Knowles and Maxine Harris Alford. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Wayne was a loving husband and a faithful servant of the Lord.

            Honorary pallbearers will be his fellow deacons and his Sunday school class, Pairs and Spares.

            He was preceded in death by his father and his stepfather, Robert Alford.

            Survivors: Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Alford; sons, Michael and wife, Larissa Alford, of California, David Alford of Fort Worth; grandson, Ron Sikes; mother, Maxine Alford of Willow Park; brother, Charles Alford of Clear Lake; sister, Jasmine (Cymbe) Walston of Indiana; and his church family.
