            E.G. “Gerald” Alford, Sr., 72 of Houston, passed away Sunday, November 21, 1999.

            Mr. Alford was born in Austonio, TX on October 10, 1927 to Edgar Gerald Alford and Lizzie Henderson Alford. He was a Deacon at Longpoint Baptist Church, an active member of the Bay Area Gospel Music Association and a Board Member of Northam Ministries. Mr. Alford owned and operated E.G. Alford Company since 1955 and served in the U.S. Army during WW II.

            He is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lucille Alford and survived by his wife, Mary Alford; sons, Jerry “E.G.” Alford, Jr. and wife, Lynn, Gary and Kerry Alford; step-daughters, Connie Northam, Sharon Meads and Lisa Turner; sisters, Mary Mischer and Louise Alford; grandchildren Kellie, Allison, and Ashley Alford; step-grandchildren Jaime, Lori and Kelly Northam, Elizabeth, Christopher and Leah Meads, Cody and Chad Turner, Julie, Kirk and Jennifer Jordan; and other loving relatives and friends.

            Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday, November 23, 1999 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, where Funeral Services will be held 1:30 pm, Wednesday, November 24, 1999.... Interment to follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
