Irvin P. Alford, 65, of Holts Summit [Callaway Co.], died Saturday, May 24, 1997, at Capital Health Care in Jefferson City.
He was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Madelia, Minn., the son of Wallis and Stella Hage Alford. He graduated from Truman High School in Truman, Minn. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean War. He was married March 15, 1959, in West Grove, Iowa, to Virginia White, who survives at the home.
He was a dairy farmer for 12 years and a union member with Chamberlains Manufacturing. He belonged to the Grace Lutheran Church of Holts Summit and the Alford American Family Association.
He is also survived by three sons, Raymond Wesley Alford of Festus, Standley Lee Alford of Jefferson City, and Wallace James Alford of Tebbetts, and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son Wallis Standley Alford.
Visitation was Monday, May 26, at the Houser-Millard Holts Summit Chapel.... Burial followed in the Hawthorn Memorial Gardens Cemetery....
