            Funeral for H. Hoover Alford, 61, of Bryan [Brazos Co.] will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Bryan…. Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Alford died Saturday [sic] in a local nursing home.

            He was born in Mumford and had lived in Bryan since 1960. He was owner of H&M Wholesale Inc. and was a rancher.

            He was a past member of the Rotary Club and the Bryan Elks Lodge, and a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Texas Oil Marketers Association and the National Association of Texaco Wholesalers.

            Mr. Alford graduated from Texas A&M University in 1952. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Bryan.

            Survivors his wife, Mary Alford of Bryan; two sons, Bill Alford and James Boedeker, both of Bryan; three daughters, Cindy Ott of Jakarta, Indonesia, Lisa French of Bryan and Melissa Baumgarner of Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, Hawk Alford and Dan Alford, both of Caldwell, and Robert A. Alford of Houston [AAFA #0148]; two sisters, Virginia Claybrook of Rockford, Mich., and Jane Spiller of Flint, Mich.; and 13 grandchildren.

            Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
