CORDELE—Graveside funeral services for Betty Alford McGugan, wife of Bobby McGugan of St. Simons Island, will be held Saturday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery.

            Betty was the daughter of Morris Robert Alford and Ruby Viola Killingsworth. Her husband, Robert Vernon McGugan, reported that she died 20 Aug 2012.

            Some online records list her father as Robert Morris Alford, but Betty reported that he was Morris Robert, and his gravestone in Oak Hill East Cemetery, Putnam, Palatka Co., FL, is engraved “Morris R. Alford.”
