SEYMOUR [Baylor Co., TX]—Joe B. Alford, 84, of Colorado
Springs [El Paso Co.], Colorado died on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, in Colorado
Springs. Graveside services were held on Monday in Old Seymour Cemetery. Archer
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Alford was an executive director of the
American Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum Engineers.
Survivors include his wife, George Marie;
daughter, Frances Rolater of Colorado Springs; a son, Joe Dudley; and two
grandsons.

Joe’s father, Van Dorn Alford, married Myra Anne
Benge on 19 July 1908.
Joe was AAFA’s Colorado State Representative in
the early days of the Association. He and wife George attended the 1989 Annual
Meeting in Houston.
